Popular Cinematographer P C Sriram daughter passes away

The popular Cinematographer P C Sriram’s daughter accidentally fell from the terrace of a four storied building and died. The popular cinematographer had worked in many films including Nayagan, Kuruthipunal and Devar Mahan. His daughter Swetha who is aged 24 was working as a software engineer in a private computer company. She was earning more than 50,000 rupees per month. She was not married. Day before yesterday she participated in a Deepavali party hosted in an apartment at Kilpauk Ladle Road. Eight of her friends were sitting in the terrace and eating. Some of them were singing and dancing. At this point of time Swetha unexpectedly fell from the top of this four storied building. She who was struggling for her life was rushed to a private nursing home but she was declared dead. Kilpauk police Inspector had filed a case and is enquiring this matter. There is a doubt whether anybody else could have pushed her.

Vetrimaaran speaks about Aadukalam

Director Vetrimaaran while speaking about his film Aadukalam said, “For a warrior battlefield is his playground. But for the sportsman, the playground itself is a battlefield. Life is also like that. Life is a game where we win for some time, loose for some time.

Some play, some make others play. I am speaking about life which is like a chess game in the film Aadukalam. Though there is a meaning grammatically for Aadukalam, there is also another meaning for it.

Many are asking that how Dhanush fitted in this role. The hero should be uneducated and wearing a dirty lungi and shirt. Dhanush fitted this role. He has kept aside his heroism and star image to do this role.

He can be seen as Karuppu instead of Dhanush. No other actors would have fitted in this role. The heroine Tapasee is a Delhi girl. When I first saw her photo, I did not like her. I thought that she will not suit for an Anglo Indian girl character.

But when I saw her personally I decided that she should be the heroine of this film. She will look different in this film. I have given importance to her role. Poet Jayabalan has lived his character in this film. Apart from this he has written a song for this film. Radha Ravi has dubbed for Jayabalan.

Trisha says that she is happy to act with Ajith again

Trisha is again pairing with Ajith in Mankatha. Neetu Chandra was initially signed for the heroine role but due to the cricket scandal she was removed from this film. Then Trisha was signed for this role.

Trisha had earlier acted with Ajith in Ji and Kireedom. Now Trisha says that she is happy to act with Ajith. She said,” Ajith is a talented actor. I have earlier paired with him. I am really happy that I am once again pairing with him. The shooting of this film commenced recently.

Since the shooting of Manmadha Ambu has been completed, I was able to act in Mankatha. I am also acting in some Telugu films. Kamal is my favourite hero. I am expecting the release of this film in which I have acted with Kamal. The audio launch function of Manmadha Ambu is to be held at Singapore on 20th of this month. I am also eagerly waiting for this function. I celebrated Deepavali with happiness. I met few friends. I had a special lunch in my house.”

Hindu People Party protest that Divya should not act in Tamil films

The Hindu People Party has protested that Divya should not act in Tamil films. Kannan who is the State Organizing Secretary of this party had earlier issued a statement saying that since Divya was against Tamilians in the Cauvery issue, she should not be signed for any Tamil films.

But Gowtham Menon has signed Divya for his next film in spite of this party’s warning. Kannan while speaking about this said,” We protested at that time itself when Divya was signed to act in Vaaranam Aayiram.

But Gowtham Menon assured us that he will not sign Divya for his future films. Because of this we remained silent. But now Gotham Menon has gone back on his word. Making her act in his film is condemnable. We will not permit this.

Because of this there is problem for Divya to act in this film. When Divya was asked about it, she said,” There is protest against me that I should not act in Gowtham Menon’s film. I don’t know whether I will act in it or not. Only Gowtham Menon should say about this.”

Madhu Shalini in Avan Ivan

This film has been directed by Jeeva’s assistant Manikandan. Next I will be acting in the film Roudram which has Jeeva in the lead role. The shooting of the film is to commence shortly. Everybody knows that I have already had acted in English films The Other End Of The Line and Cooking With Stella.

Now I am acting in an English film Midnight Children. I am in London for shooting of this film. Acting in Hollywood film is a different experience. I should also mention about their punctuality.

Genelia had been to Australia for the shooting of a Hindi film. It seems she heard a strange voice in a hotel room because of this she ran away from that room.

While speaking about this experience she said,” Recently I had been to Australia to participate in a shooting. I was allotted a room in a star hotel. When I entered the room I felt something strange. Scaring images were painted on the walls. But I managed to stay.

But as time passed, I could hear some one talking. I thought that someone was talking outside. But I was able to hear this queer voice continuously. So I noticed it with keenness. I could hear the wall cracking sound. I started shivering. Immediately I rushed out of the room. When I came out, I found the others who had accompanied me had the same experience. So we stayed in another hotel. This was a thrilling experience.”

T Manoharan is directing this film. Anjali while speaking to the media said,” I am donning a role of a modern girl. Because of this I had worn lots of modern dresses and acted. The story of the film is about an elder generation trying to transform themselves like the younger generation and the problems they encounter while doing this. Sathya and me are the younger generation.

Nasar and Saranya are the other pair. Anitha is also pairing with Nasar. How that is is suspense. For this film I featured in a song sequence which begins with the line Mexi Mexican Lady. The song sequence was shot in a place called Putra Jaya in Malaysia.

Divya runs away without bearing the fish smell

Divya is pairing with Jeeva in the film Singam Puli. The shooting of this film took place in the Royapuram Fish Market recently. Divya who had come to participate in the shooting was moody.

Scenes featuring Jeeva and Divya were shot. In between the shots, she was running to the caravan. When asked her whether she was not well, she said,” I am well.

I have not so far acted in the fish market scenes. I was not able to bear the fish smell. That is why I ran to the caravan after the shot was over.”

The director who understood the plight of Divya sent her away after completing her portions immediately.

English novelist Chetan Bhagat has written a novel titled Two States. Chetan who is a North Indian has married a Tamil girl.

He has written this novel based on his marriage experience.

But I did not get a good film at all. I am very careful in selecting the stories. I did not act in glamour roles to attract anyone. I act as per the expectations who bring the story to me. Mysskin to direct a Hindi film

When asked Mysskin about directing the Hindi film and Nandhalala he said, “I had the intention of directing Surya in a film titled Mugamudi produced by UTV Pictures.

But the idea was dropped. Later on they had asked me for another story. I told them a story that happens in 12 hours. John Abraham is doing the lead role. This film is a wholesome action one. With regard to Nandhalala it will be definitely released.





Mostly it will be released in a few days. After Nandhalala I got lot of offer to do the lead role. Everything was boring because I am really not a hero. My waist size is 39. I did the lead role in Nandhalala due to some unavoidable circumstances. But I acted well. I am a sincere actor. In future I may act in a film directed by me. The script will be definitely powerful.

The history cannot forget the record set by Superstar Rajnikanth’s ‘Chandramukhi’. The film was successful in all the versions. Witnessing the success, P. Vasu made the second part in Kannada as ‘Aaptha Rakshaka’. With the sequel again turning to be a blockbuster, the filmmaker wanted to remake the film with Superstar Rajnikanth in lead role.

But Rajnikanth made a different proposal to P. Vasu saying that Ajith Kumar will be more apt for the role. P. Vasu in his recent interview confirmed that Ajith Kumar has watched the Kannada film on request of Rajnikanth. Since he is busy now with his own project and I am working on the same project in Telugu and Tamil movie ‘Puli Vesham’, we are yet to make final decisions.

About Rajnikanth performing guest appearance in this film, P. Vasu said, “I have been hearing such rumors on airs. I believe it would be really superb as it is an excellent idea…”

Endhiran super hit in Dubai

There was anticipation that Endhiran would be a super hit film throughout the world in the history of Indian cinema. This was proved today in Dubai when the film was released at 7.30 A M.

The audience who came to watch Endhiran appeared in robot get ups. They said that it was doubtful that a film like Endhiran can ever be made.

Endhiran is being released throughout India tomorrow. The film is also being released with great pomp in America like in Tamil Nadu.

The tickets were sold out for a week’s time in ten minutes when the plans opened in Jackson Heights in New York. Endhiran is also being screened continuously for two days in the I Max theatre at Indiana.

Kamal was awarded the fourth highest recognition given to Indian civilians – the Padmashri in 1990. Kamal was conferred an honorary doctorate by Sathyabama Deemed University, Chennai in 2005. He has won a total of 171 awards which is more than any other actor in the world living or dead. Kamal was named as kalaignani meaning – an idiol of art, by M. Karunanidhi for his classical work towards tamil cinema.

In Kamal upcoming film Dasavatharam, he is playing 10 different roles, an act which is the second of its kind in the world, after the Tamil movie Dambachari (1936). Kamal  was married to Vani Ganapathy and later married Sarika with whom he has two daughters (Shruthi and Akshara) and with whom he is now separated.
