Kamal Haasan and Trisha are in the lead roles in the film Manmadhan Ambu which has been directed by K S Ravikumar. This film is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin. A press meet was held on Saturday. During this press meet, Kamal gave an interview to the media.
How is it that you are so youthful even at the age of 56 years? Are you taking any herbal medicines?
We should not about age. If there is a thought that we should be young, we can be youthful. I eat three times like everyone. I don’t take any Thanga Paspam (Gold elixir). If I had that much gold I would have put that also in cinema.
Rajnikanth had acted in a high budgeted film Endhiran directed by Shankar. Will you also act in such kind of high budgeted film?
Will Kamal Haasan act in the films written by him?
I will act if the story written by anyone. If you have a good story, I am ready to act.

If I have any doubt in acting I will think about my mentor Shivaji Ganeshan. There are a lot of things to learn from him. Don’t compare Rajni with me. We ourselves don’t compare. We also decided not act together many years ago. Dasavatharam was a high budgeted film and similarly Manmadhan Ambu is also a high budgeted film.
Why was Manmadhan Ambu shot in a luxury cruise liner?
The story of the film is connected with the cruise ship. I am donning the role of an ex commando. The story demanded the ship.
What is the reason for Madhavan continuously acting in your films?

Is rehearsal necessary for cinema?
When rehearsal is r
equired for a stage play which is being staged at a cost of Rs 5 Lakhs, is it not necessary for a film that is being produced at a cost of Rs 5o Crores. The rehearsal for cinema is not my inven
tion. There was rehearsal during Modern Theatres days itself. There was a very big hall for rehearsals in the studio those days itself.

Vijayalakshmi says that she is bored with homely roles. She while speaking to the media said,” I have done homely roles in all the films I have acted so far.
That is the mistake I have done. Because of this mistake there was a image that I am suitable for such roles only. Apart from this, I am bored doing these kind of homely roles.
To change this image I have decided to act in glamour roles. Because of this I have conducted a photo shoot. My idea is that once we have decided to act, we should be ready to act in any roles.
I will be acting in a Tamil film. Talks are going on regarding this.”

Vijay who was pelting bullets all these has now taken roses in his hand. Now with his usual commercial ingredients he has taken romance also as an important ingredient.

Director Siddique gives the guarantee that you can see ‘ Mr Cool’ Vijay in this film like the films Kadhalukku Mariyadhai and Poove Unakkaga.
There are no powerful punch dialogues in this film for Vijay.
After Friends, Vadivelu and Vijay’s comedy combo will be rib trickling. There will scenes similar to Friends.
A racy fight sequence was shot in Bangkok. Martial Arts Master in Thailand said,” Normally Indian actors will use dupe for stunt scenes. But Vijay surprised me without using a dupe.” He has given a shield to Vijay.
Some pucca fighting sequences have been shot in the moving train in Mettupalayam. In one of the scenes Vijay jumped from the train which no one expected. So when the crew asked him that why he did it, he said,” Had I mentioned that I will jump, you would not have permitted me. That is why I surprisingly jumped.”
When the shooting was going on in Mettupalayam, there use to be crowd to witness the shooting. Vijay used to speak to them with mike.
The shooting for a song sequence was also held in a dense forest in Poona. So all of them camped in a tent in the forest. One night lots of snakes started visiting the tents. The crew members were startled. But Vijay boldly said that he will sleep with the crew members in that tent.
A song composed by Vidhyasagar was shot in the mid sea in Malaysia. So they travelled every day 30 kms in a boat to the mid sea.
Raj Kiran who had come for the dubbing became very emotional after seeing some scenes. Only after three hours he has come to normalcy and has dubbed.
Right from the beginning of Kaavalan there was Asin’s call sheet problem. Since Siddique mentioned that she would be suitable for the role, Vijay had patiently acted in this film giving respect to the director.
Director Siddique said,” The last 20 minutes climax scene will be emotional and sensational like in the film Kadhal Kottai. You can enjoy Vijay who is back to his old formula.”
